As a guest, it is easy to make smart environmental choices when you dine at a Sodexo café. We know today's college students want to do the right thing for the planet and we also understand you lead busy lives, so your Sodexo chefs and managers do a lot of the work for you behind the scenes!
From purchasing local seasonal produce whenever possible to reducing inorganic and organic waste, your campus team is dedicated to providing you with an exceptional dining experience that is good for you and good for the planet.
Vermont First
Our commitment to the State of Vermont
Vermont First is Sodexo’s commitment to the State of Vermont, our business partners, and the communities in which we live and work to support Vermont’s local economy. Through strategic purchasing and collaboration with stakeholders, Vermont First aims to grow market opportunity for local producers, stimulate job growth, and ensure the viability of Vermont’s working lands.
In 2018, St. Michael’s College spent $3,219 on local products, equivalent to 5% of our total food spend. In serving over 750 meals a day, we utilized products from 54 local producers. That includes 42% of our apples, 52% of our cabbage, and 100% of our beets!
